Frequently Asked Ordering Questions



Can I make changes to my order?

Yes, we would be happy to accept your order changes up to 10 business days before your requested ship date. To ensure accuracy, we prefer to receive any changes in writing via fax or e-mail, but will also accept changes by phone.

Can I order online?

Current customers who order direct or through a sales representative can access our online ordering system using their login and password on our website.  If you have not already registered for a login and password, you may do so by clicking here.

Online ordering is not available to customers who order through a broker.

Can I use a credit card to pay for my order?

Yes. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Please tell us at the time you place your order if you would like to use your credit card to pay for it.

Do you offer any perennials not listed in you catalog?

Often as the season progresses, we have small quantities of future new items available. These items are listed on our availability list. They may or may not have labels available with them. Contact customer care for further details.

Do you ship C.O.D.?

We do not accept C.O.D. orders. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express or you may send in a check with your order. Please include 12% of the order amount for shipping charges.

How do I know what is currently available?

Our availability can be found online.  You can also contact us to have it emailed or faxed to you.

How do I set up an account with Walters Gardens?

Our terms are net 30 days on approved accounts.

To establish credit, simply fill out the credit application in our catalog (please fax or mail in with your order). This application can also be downloaded online. You will be asked to furnish 5 trade references. A finance charge of 2% per month is charged to past due accounts.

How late in the season do you ship?

We ship year round to all 50 states and Canada.  A few items are available in spring only.  Please see the our current availability online which lists availability dates for every item.

I'm a new customer without a credit history.  Can I order now and pay later?

We regret that we do not hold orders for unestablished accounts. Payment must accompany the order in the form of a check or credit card.

Should I order directly or through a Sales Representative or Broker?

It is completely up to you.  You may order directly from Walters Gardens or from one of our sales representatives or brokers, whichever you are more comfortable with. If you place your order through a sales representative or broker and have any questions or concerns about your order, please contact them directly to have the issues resolved.

What is the minimum order requirement?

There is no minimum dollar amount required. Please order plants in the multiples specified on the order form.

When should I place my order?

We strongly suggest ordering early, especially with new and top selling items. It's a good idea to put in your order as soon as our New Item List is published since these plants tend to sell out quickly. Likewise, place your summer and catalog orders as soon as you receive these publications. If an item is sold out, we will be happy to enter a future order for you.

Will you make substitutions on my order if an item is sold out?

Yes, we will make substitutions, if necessary, with a similar variety and/or grade size. You will have the opportunity to specify when you order if you do not want any substitutes.
