Human Resources Assistant

We are currently looking for an HR Assistant to support the HR Department in servicing our multicultural staff and fostering a positive working environment. This position will provide administrative support to the department by maintaining records and documents and other administrative duties. Essential Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain personnel files and employment records
  • Perform data entry in multiple HRIS systems
  • Maintain training records, benefit files, compensation records
  • Coordinate company meetings and special events
  • Maintain job descriptions
  • Publish the biweekly company newsletter and assist with other company communications
  • Create reports, spreadsheets and documents

Associate or Bachelor degree preferred, in Human Resources, Business or related field, one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. The ability to speak and understand Spanish is preferred. Candidates must be able to exercise appropriate discernment with confidential information. This is a part-time position, 15-25 hours a week. Regional Product Director – Northeast Region

We are currently looking for a Regional Product Director – Northeast Region to promote Walters Gardens’ product to industry audiences and cultivate relationships with new and existing customers. 

Essential duties include:

  • Oversee the development of customer relationships and sales growth primarily in the Northeast Region of the US
  • Service and support customers through various communication methods
  • Travel to customers to promote Walters Gardens product and present new ideas, concepts and programs
  • Attend industry trade shows and events
  • Establish sales goals and assist with developing production goals
  • Work with internal Walters Gardens’ departments on product availability and salability

Qualified applicants must have demonstrated ability of:

  • Strong communication (both written and oral), motivational and organizational skills. 
  • The ability to maintain a high level of customer service
  • Be passionate about people and plants
  • Show positive initiative and self-motivation
  • Multi-task and manage multiple projects independently
  • Achieve in depth product knowledge
  • Work as a team with other Product Directors and the Customer Care team
  • Solid understanding of, and applicable experience in, the perennial industry preferred
  • Working knowledge of various computer programs
